Over 900 Meals Will Be Served Wednesday At The 27th Annual Great Thanksgiving Banquet

The Good News Rescue Mission’s 27th annual Great Thanksgiving Banquet is Wednesday. More than 200 volunteers will serve more than 900 full Thanksgiving meals to any individual or family who shows up. Even community members who are not in need are encouraged to attend and break bread beside the less fortunate. Shasta Regional Medical Center is assisting with the food preparation. Meals are being served in shifts, at 11AM, 12 Noon, 1PM, 4PM, 5PM and 6PM at the Mission’s Dining Hall on Veda Street off of South Market. Last Friday the Good News Rescue Mission handed out turkey and meal kits to prepare at home for 540 families who had previously signed up for the giveaway. All the food was donated locally by individuals and through food drives such as Stuff the Truck and Give Redding. Information on volunteering or donating to the mission can be found at gnrm.org.
