A pack of dogs has some people on edge in the Shingletown area. The Shasta County Sheriff’s Office says the pack killed a family dog last week. Residents say they’ve been roaming the Lake McCumber area and causing concern for a few years and have recently gotten more aggressive. The Wolf/Husky/Malamute hybrids belonged to a local man was cited last week for having stray unlicensed and unvaccinated dogs. He turned in one of the dogs, but the other six are elusive. Animal regulation officers have set traps and continue patrolling for the dogs. The Sheriff’s Office says they’ve informed residents of their rights in protecting themselves and their livestock.
