Park Fire Has Not Grown But Lots of Work Remains

The Park Fire has mostly been defeated as it’s now 82% contained after burning 429,603 acres. The perimeter has not grown for a few days. Crews have been dealing with the danger that comes with heavy rains on the recently defoliated slopes. All evacuation orders and warnings have been lifted and all roads have reopened with the exception of Plum Creek Road in Tehama County. Damage inspections are complete, reporting a final total of 709 structures destroyed. It’s unclear how many of those are homes. There were no fatalities or injuries in the Park Fire. There are nearly 2,300 personnel still on scene.
