Progress continues on the Park Fire, now 94% contained at 429,603 acres. 709 structures were destroyed by the Park Fire since it started July 24th in Upper Bidwell Park. All evacuation orders and warnings have been lifted. All roads have reopened though CalTrans is doing restoration repair. Those traveling in the fire zone should be aware of equipment moving around, particularly in the Highway 36 area. Though the fire is basically extinguished, crews are still watching for flare-ups as temperatures increase and humidity drops. There are more than 1,500 personnel still on scene.
The Boise Fire has burned 12,910 acres since it started August 9th near the town of Orleans in Humboldt County. It’s now more than halfway contained, at 59%, but some areas within the perimeter continue to burn. The Six Rivers National Forest and part of the Klamath are closed to the public. A number of evacuation orders and warnings remain in effect.
