Park Rangers Identify Group Of Thieves Who Stole Property At Whiskeytown Lake

Law Enforcement Park Rangers at Whiskeytown National Recreation Area say they have identified a group of thieves with help from the social media. Last Saturday some visitors to the lake were paddleboarding near Whiskeytown Dam when they saw a boat land where they had left their belongings on the shoreline. They watched helplessly as the three occupants of the boat collected the victims’ property and escaped on their boat while taunting the victims. One of the victims flagged down another boater and they chased the thieves, who threw the stolen property overboard. When they caught up to the thieves, the suspects started to drive wildly and tried to ram the pursuer’s boat. Video and photos of the suspects were posted to social media and Rangers say they now know who they are and will seek charges against them.
