A long-term closure begins Wednesday for portions of the Sacramento River Trail in Redding. The city has contracted with Stimpel-Wiebelhaus for $1.1 Million worth of repairs from damage sustained from storms, and from the Carr Fire. Improvements and repairs include pavement work, trail shoulder backing, gravel, benches, and fencing. Eroded areas also need to be backfilled with riprap. The job will be done as weather permits 7AM to 5PM weekdays through April 15th.
