A person was killed after they were hit by a train in Anderson on Saturday. The incident occurred at just after 5PM at the railroad tracks off Highway 273 near North Street. According to the Anderson Police Department, 1st responders found the person dead at the scene when they arrived. The case has been handed over to the Shasta County Coroner’s Office. Officers believe the deceased person had been running toward the train when the fatal collision occurred.
