A suspected dealer of drugs and weapons was busted after a traffic stop in east Redding Thursday night. The RPD Neighborhood Police Unit has been investigating the trafficking of large quantities of drugs and guns through social media apps. Officers served a search warrant on a blue Toyota 4Runner that was suspected of being a delivery vehicle. It was stopped on Mistletoe Lane at Deerfield and the driver, 27-year-old Joshua Shultz, was detained. Apparently nothing was found in the SUV, so officers searched Shultz’s home on Woodland Terrace and reported finding 3 pounds of cannabis, 2 shotguns, several handguns including one that was reported stolen, a short barreled rifle, high capacity magazines, a lot of ammunition and more than $50,000 cash. Schultz was booked into jail and then apparently released.
