A fire south of Willow Creek in the Mosquito Creek drainage is burning in heavy timber in very steep terrain. The Hill Fire covers more than 7,200 acres with containment of 58%. Lines have mostly been holding and spot fires to the northwest of the fire have been contained. Evacuations are in effect as well as a number of road closures. There have been 5 injuries. It’s being fought by more than 1,300 personnel.
The Shelly Fire in the Marble Mountains of Siskiyou County is not expected to grow beyond it’s perimeter of 15,500 acres, now with 92% containment, though areas on the interior continue to burn. 8 people have been injured. Only a few evacuation orders remain in effect. Around 700 personnel remain on scene.
The Ridge Fire on the Lake and Colusa County line is 95% contained after burning about 2,800 acres
Several fires in Plumas County north of Highway 70 being managed as the Gold Complex cover a total of more than 3,000 acres with 75% containment.
