Full containment of the Park Fire is getting closer, now at 92%. Crews are mostly engaged in mop-up, patrol and repair operations now within the fire’s 429,603 acre perimeter. 709 structures were destroyed by the Park Fire. All evacuation orders and warnings have been lifted. All roads have reopened though CalTrans is doing restoration repair along Highways 32, 36 and 172. Traffic delays could be as long as 20 minutes. Those traveling in the fire zone should be aware of equipment moving around, particularly in the Highway 36 area. Wednesday temperatures reached around 95 degrees and humidity was down to 15%, quickly drying out the vegetation. There are more than 1,900 personnel still on scene.
The Boise Fire has not grown, still at just over 12,900 acres and now with 46% containment. It started August 9th near the town of Orleans in Humboldt County. The Six Rivers National Forest and part of the Klamath are closed to the public. A number of evacuation orders and warnings remain in effect.
