The people who organized the recall vote against Kevin Crye are asking a lot of questions about the new County Counsel. Joseph Larmour is the fifth person to hold the position since last March. He’s held the same title in Yuba County since last August, and will resign in April in favor of the new job. Larmour is apparently the boyfriend of the General Manager of Crye’s business, the Ninja Coalition Gym. Crye didn’t mention knowing him when he recommended and interviewed Larmour for the post. He was hired in December by a 3 to 2 vote. The top of the salary scale for the legal counsel is officially $234,600 but Larmour’s pay is more than $240,000 plus a $20,000 hiring bonus and a $5,000 yearly car allowance. The base pay is well above that of the Sheriff or the District Attorney.
