Rain Makes Muddy Mess at Humboldt County Fire

Containment of 43% has been achieved for the Boise Fire after burning just over 12,900 acres near the town of Orleans in Humboldt County. After an inch and a half of rain, some of the access roads into the fire are no longer accessible. Crews are trying to gain access to the fire’s edge through China Creek and Nordheimer Trail. The west and south sides are in patrol and mop-up stage. The Six Rivers National Forest and part of the Klamath are closed to the public. A number of evacuation orders and warnings remain in effect.
