A 48-year-old Red Bluff man has been sentenced for threatening children. James William Wesley was arrested in November. Some kids were playing in the well-lit parking lot of the Tehama County Courthouse when Wesley started yelling at them, saying he was going to call the police. He then grabbed a pair of scissors and started following the kids while threatening to stab and kill them. The kids feared for their lives. Wesley claimed he was defending himself with the scissors. Many witnesses backed the childrens’ story. For felony criminal threats, Wesley has been sentenced to 2 years in state prison.
