A child sexual predator was convicted by a Shasta County jury last week. Redding Police opened an investigation in May of 2022 after the 6-year-old victim reported on-going sexual abuse in the victim’s home. After being interviewed several times, detectives say 40-year-old Jerry Anthony Patnode Jr admitted to committing the acts against the child. Patnode has been found guilty of 7 felony child sexual assault charges. Patnode’s sentencing is set for September 23rd, and he faces a maximum of 38-years-to-life in prison.
