Redding Library Set To Reopen In February After Maintenance Project

The Redding Library is set to reopen its doors early next month after some unexpected construction delays including roof leaks and the installation of new carpet and book shelving. While the Community Room inside the library’s front door has been a makeshift library since last Summer, the rest of the facility has been closed off for maintenance and upgrades. The new features are being paid for by a $798,000 grant from the California State Library. It’s the first-time new carpet has been installed at the library since it first opened back in March 2007. A book gala on February 21st will be the first big event at the library once it reopens.
