Redding Man Sentenced After Arrest During Sting Operation Targeting Child Sexual Predators

A Redding man caught in an Anderson Police sting operation targeting sexual child predators was sentenced on Friday. Conversations began on Facebook in the Summer of 2021 between an undercover officer and 46-year-old Larry Michael Vick. The officer posed as a 16-year-old teenage runaway, but Vick continued the communications with detailed descriptions of the sexual acts he wanted to do with her. Vick arranged a meeting at a local hotel for sex and when he arrived he was arrested. In May Vick was found guilty by a jury for sending harmful matter and making contact with a minor for a sexual offense. He also pled no contest to grand theft for getting $28,000 in unemployment benefits in someone else’s name. He’s been sentenced to 3 years in prison and he has to pay the money back.
