A Redding man has been given a life sentence for two separate gun-related incidents. In June of last year 52-year-old Roger Pyatt Price was stopped by Redding Police and found to be in possession of a handgun, 100 rounds of ammunition and multiple bags of Methamphetamine. In December he pled to being a felon with a gun and transportation of drugs for sale. He was released pending sentencing, but failed show up in court. In March he was spotted in the passenger seat of a pickup truck on Lake Boulevard at Oasis Road. Knowing of his multiple felony warrants, officers made a high-risk traffic stop at gunpoint and detained the driver, but Price remained seated and refused to move. He told officers that a gun was in the backseat. After a few minutes he got out and surrendered. There was a loaded sawed-off shotgun behind him and a loaded 40 caliber handgun under the seat. On Friday he was sentenced to 25 years to life in state prison, plus another 11 years.
