Redding Reduces Water Restrictions After Wet Winter

The extra rainy weather has much improved the water supply situation for the City of Redding. The snowpack in the Sierra-Nevada, which serves as a long term water source over the Summer months, is 195% of average for this time of year, Lake Shasta is 84% full and the Bureau of Reclamation is providing 100% of water allotments. For Redding water customers that means mandatory stage two water restrictions are no longer in effect and conservation measures are now all voluntary. People are still advised to be mindful by preventing water runoff to non-irrigated areas, and not watering within 48 hours of rainfall.
