There will be a small increase in the flow of the Sacramento River on Friday. Releases from Keswick Dam will be boosted from 9,000 to 9,500 cubic feet per second. The Bureau of Reclamation is trying to keep Lake Shasta full for recreation, storage, and maximum hydroelectric output, while balancing the flood control function of the dam as melting water continues to enter the lake from a record Winter snowpack. The lake level is currently about 6-and-a-half feet from the crest of the dam.
