The Park Fire remains 99% contained after burning 429,603 acres and 709 structures in Butte and Tehama Counties. Some snags are still producing some smoke but they’re not expected to flare up. Repair crews have several days remaining for removing hazard trees in the Ponderosa Way area, and at least a week at Turner Mountain. Repairs that have been completed include 5 of 7 miles of hand line, 73 of 99 miles of dozer line, 66 of 101 miles of roads that were used for containment and 27 of 49 miles of other repair lines. Caltrans is working on road repair, and starting Thursday highway 32 is subject to full closure between 8AM and 4PM Mondays through Saturdays, with half hour controlled openings at 10AM, Noon and 2PM. A closure order remains in effect for parts of the Lassen National Forest. There’s still a lot of equipment moving around the area.
The Boise Fire near Orleans in Humboldt County is still 12,967 acres with 91% containment. A number of evacuation warnings are still in effect, and one zone is still under evacuation orders.
