REU Working On Plan To Transition Redding’s Vehicle Fleet To Zero Emission

The City of Redding is transitioning to state mandated zero-emissions vehicles. Starting in 2027, that classification must apply to all new purchases, with the exception of fire engines and other emergency response vehicles. By 2036 all vehicle purchases- a total of 488 of them- must be zero emissions, with fire apparatus being the only exception. Redding Electric Utility is working with a private firm to implement the transition at as little cost as possible. A report will be made at Tuesday nights council meeting.
