RPD Arrests Man Who Reportedly Broke Into Cypress Avenue Thrift Store

Surveillance images have led to the arrest of a suspect in a couple of Redding thrift shop break-ins. At 11:30PM Friday night Redding Police arrived at the New Life Discovery Project Thrift Store on Cypress Avenue. Someone had smashed the glass front door to get in. The cash register and other items were missing. Officers reviewed the camera footage and just over an hour later an officer found 30-year-old Daren Cole, who looked like the burglar in the surveillance. Police say he had stolen goods from the break-in and he confessed to it. Cole was also implicated in a Thursday night burglary during which someone broke into Goodwill through the roof and made off with stolen items. Cole reportedly confessed to that as well.
