RPD Arrests Man Who Reportedly Threatened His Neighbor With A Gun

A Redding man is accused of threatening his neighbor’s life with a gun. Redding Police were called shortly before 7 O’clock Thursday night to Veda Street off South Market. They say when they arrived, 63-year-old Richard Bischof fled back inside his home. His neighbor had reportedly witnessed a domestic disturbance and tried to intervene when Bischof threatened him with a loaded tactical-style semi-automatic centerfire rifle. As Redding Police tried to negotiate with Bischof, a small child came out. Police brought out their armored vehicle and Bischof eventually surrendered. The child was released to a relative. A woman in the home was uncooperative with police. Bischof was booked into jail on several charges.
