Two young men stole alcohol at gunpoint at a Redding supermarket and then robbed a man, according to police. Around 2AM Sunday an employee of Winco confronted one of the men for stealing a bottle of liquor and he reportedly pulled gun from his waistband and both suspects fled in a Kia Soul. About an hour later someone in the parking lot of the AM/PM on Lake Boulevard was robbed by a man who fired shots from a handgun. Police say video surveillance showed it was the same suspects from Winco. Detectives reviewed records to identify the shooter as 20-year-old Winfield Andrew Hanson. The Kia was found parked down the street, and officers staked it out until 10:40AM Sunday morning when three people got into it. Officers pulled the Kia over and arrested the driver, 18-year-old William St. Louis, for having loaded gun in public. However, he was not believed to be involved in the robberies. While checking the area police saw Hansen running from an apartment complex on Masonic Avenue and into the wooded canyon area. A K9 helped find him hiding along with a juvenile. Hansen had a loaded 9 millimeter and he and the minor were both arrested for the robberies.
