A man from Georgia was arrested in Downtown Redding Monday afternoon after a strange incident. Police were called to Jacque’s Design Studio on Pine Street. A man had followed a woman into the store, accused her of theft and then broke and scratched items in the store before leaving. Officers found 28-year-old Tyree McPherson near the corner of Eureka and Market. He reportedly resisted but was taken into custody and identified by the witness as the same man. The damage to the store was nearly $1,600. McPherson was booked into jail on several charges.
