Reduced speed limits in school zones are essential in keeping our children safe when we can’t be there to protect them. Some drivers just don’t get it, though, and continue to drive too fast on some major thoroughfares that happen to pass by schools. On Tuesday morning Redding Police made a concentrated effort to enforce school zones near Shasta High School, U-Prep, Enterprise High, and the zone shared by Parson’s Junior High and Rother Elementary. More than 30 drivers were stopped and most of them were given citations. One of the drivers, 30-year-old Helio Deleon, was arrested for a felony warrant.
