RPD: Lockdown Lifted At Several Redding Schools After Unfounded Claim Of Student With A Gun

Three Redding high schools were locked down Monday after a student claimed to have a gun. At around 10AM a student in class at Pioneer Continuation High School mentioned being in possession of a gun. The campus was immediately locked down, along with Shasta High and U-Prep, as Redding Police responded. The student was contained to a classroom and questioned. When the threat was determined to be unfounded, the juvenile was detained for a mental health evaluation and the schools resumed their normal routines.
