A directed enforcement operation led by the Neighborhood Police Unit has resulted in multiple arrests. Tuesdays operation targeted areas of the city impacted by high crime, especially locations affected by theft, drug use, illegal camping and the accumulation of trash along sidewalks. NPU was assisted by Community Work Program Officers, the Bike Team, the Traffic Unit and patrol officers. Overall, the teams made 12 in-custody arrests, issued 10 misdemeanor citations and wrote two infraction citations.RPD added that as part of the operation, Community Work Program Officers, together with a work release crew, also collected several Thousand Pounds of trash.
