An alleged thief was caught with a valuable haul of clothing, according to Redding Police. An officer was at Kohl’s to discuss a recent increase in thefts when he was told about a man who had loaded up a suitcase with clothing and left through an emergency exit before getting away in a Mini Cooper with no license plates. Meanwhile, an unrelated traffic stop was made on the Mini Cooper. The suitcase was apparently found to contain $1,563 worth of merchandise. Darren Davis was arrested. While being booked he was reportedly found to be hiding a bag of Fentanyl, and was charged with smuggling drugs into jail as well as grand theft.
