RPD: Man Arrested For Felony DUI After 6 Second Pursuit

Redding Police say a Cottonwood man led them on the briefest of pursuits Tuesday night. At 10:35PM an officer tried to stop a Chevy Equinox on Sundial Bridge Drive for a lighting violation, but the driver reportedly fled the wrong way onto the Eastbound Highway 44 offramp but crashed into the center median wall within 6 seconds. During a felony traffic stop, 23-year-old Nathan Barron Knox was taken into custody, and he reportedly had a handgun on him. He was uninjured and was booked into jail for charges including felony DUI and felony evading. His passengers did not fare as well. A 16-year-old boy complained of pain and an 18-year-old man suffered major injuries. About an hour and a half earlier, the same vehicle had apparently fled from Anderson Police.
