RPD: Man Who Gave Officers False Named Arrested With Meth In Downtown Redding

Redding Police say a man gave them a false name, and they soon found out why. A little after 9AM Wednesday morning, the bike team was Downtown checking the new “California Place” Apartments on California Street when they came across 44-year-old Mark Gomez. despite the false name, they figured out who he was and that he had two felony warrants for possession of drugs for sale and failure to appear. He was arrested and searched and allegedly found to be in possession of a Pokemon themed pouch containing 3 Ounces of Methamphetamine.
