RPD: Motorcyclist Leads Officers On Chase In West Redding On Monday

An armed man on a motorcycle led police on a chase in West Redding Monday afternoon. At around 3 O’clock multiple 9-1-1 callers reported that a man was pointing a gun at another man’s head in the 7-11 parking lot on Placer Street. Based on witness descriptions, officers found a suspect in the Holiday Market parking lot and tried to stop him but he fled on his motorcycle, heading south on Buenaventura. The bike left the roadway at Starlight Drive and the rider was ejected. Identified as 38-year-old Phillip Brooks Jr, the man was lying on top of a handgun that turned out to be a replica. Brooks had 5 outstanding arrest warrants and was booked into jail for driving while heavily intoxicated, assault, brandishing, terrorist threats, evading and more. He’s being held Tuesday morning without bail.
