The Redding Police Department will hold a sobriety and drivers license checkpoint Thursday night somewhere in city limits. The plan is run it from 5 O’clock to midnight someplace with a history of DUI collisions and arrests. Officers assigned to the checkpoint are trained to quickly detect impairment by alcohol or drugs, including legal drugs like pharmaceuticals and cannabis.
