Redding Police did a series of underage alcohol stings Tuesday. It was a “Shoulder Tap” operation, which involves having the underage person approach customers on their way in to liquor stores and convenience stores and ask them to make a purchase, making clear to the target that it’s because of age. Between 11AM and 3PM a total of 21 people were contacted by the minor decoys and only one of them was cited for making the purchase. The penalty is a minimum $1000 fine and 24 hours of community service.
