RPD Recovers Two Handguns During Separate Traffic Stops

Redding Police have taken a couple of guns from people who are not supposed to have them. Around Midnight Saturday a Chrysler 200 driven by 23-year-old Elijah Webster was stopped on Hartnell Avenue at Parkview. Officers say Webster told them he had a gun and a search turned up a loaded 9 millimeter semi-auto handgun with a partial box of ammo. He was arrested on several charges but is not longer in custody. At 3 O’clock Wednesday morning 45-year-old Roberto Ibarra of Red Bluff was pulled over for a mechanical violation on Lake Boulevard at North Market. He’s on Post Release Supervision for drug sales and domestic violence, so a search was done. Police reported finding a loaded non-registered semi-auto handgun. He’s being held on $50,000 bail.
