RPD Releases Body Cam Footage After Allegations Of Police Brutality

Redding Police have released body cam footage to refute accusations of police brutality made on social media about a traffic stop. On Thursday of last week 38-year-old Fredrick Phillips was pulled over for speeding on Bechelli Lane. He refused to identify himself and attempted a constitutionalist approach as he demanded to see a magistrate. Police say that when told he was being arrested Phillips became combative and tried several times to shift the car into drive as the officer held him in a wrist hold. Eventually, before backup arrived, two bystanders helped the officer get control of Phillips and get him handcuffed. The camera footage can be seen on the KQMS Facebook Page.
