A Redding teenager has been arrested for the bludgeoning death of a man in North Redding. At 5:42AM Monday morning a security guard was on patrol at the shopping center where the Dollar Tree is off Lake Boulevard and North Market Street when she found a man with severe trauma to his head and face on a discarded sofa behind the building. She called Redding Police and medical help, who determined the man was dead. Video surveillance was reviewed and it showed a juvenile beating the sleeping man with a baseball bat. Detectives combed the area and found a 15-year-old boy who looked like the boy in the video. He was interrogated and then booked into Juvenile Hall for murder. The identity of the 55-year-old victim has not been released. Anyone with information is urged to contact the RPD.
