A teenager was arrested at an East Redding store Monday night for allegedly pulling a gun during an altercation. Police were called to Target right after 6 O’clock by concerned witnesses. They said 18-year-old Zachary Peterson had been in a verbal dispute with another man when the other man pulled a can of bear spray from his bag and sprayed it at Peterson, who responded by pulling out a 45 caliber handgun. The other man fled and Peterson then reportedly tried to stash the gun inside Target. Bystanders pointed out the gun’s location to police. Officers say the gun was loaded and had no serial number or identifying marks. Peterson was arrested on several weapons charges and is in jail on $25,000 bail.
