A parolee and sex offender who was already wanted in Alameda County is accused of a robbery at a West Redding convenience store. Redding Police say that at 7 O’clock Monday morning, 47-year-old Clevelle Collins of Los Angeles walked into the Valero on Eureka Way and went directly behind the counter, where he grabbed some packs of cigarettes and told the clerk that if he tried to stop him from stealing, he would shoot everybody. He then reportedly assaulted the clerk and fled on foot westbound on Eureka Way. Collins was found nearby by officers and there was a short foot chase before Collins was taken into custody. He refused to give his name, which was revealed upon arrival at the jail. Collins is a parolee at large who had failed to register as a sex offender following his conviction for lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14.
