RPD Will Hold Public Meeting To Show The Department’s “Military” Equipment Inventory

Police agencies get a lot of surplus weaponry and other equipment from the military, as well as heavy firepower purchased new that can be defined as “military”. According to a California law passed in 2021, agencies are required to let the public know what they have in their equipment inventory. Redding Police say that even applies to drones, the armored rescue vehicle and the decked-out RV known as a “Mobile Command Post”. The RPD will hold a community meeting for the purpose of showing the public what they have on Monday at 5:30PM in the Caldwell Park Conference Room on the 2nd floor of City Hall.
