Redding Police are ready to train another set of volunteers for the citizens bicycle patrol. The group is tasked with patrolling the Sacramento River Trail and other open spaces. They won’t have police powers, but will report suspicious or hazardous circumstances to the police. After training, the patrol will be given special shirts to identify themselves. Too many people signed up for the first orientation in April, which was limited to ten. Others will now be accepted for training that begins June 1st.
