A Happy Valley man has been arrested for selling narcotics, while his 80-year-old father was arrested for trying to reportedly destroy evidence. The initial arrest happened Thursday when officers pulled over 34-year-old Christopher Short for a vehicle code violation. His father 80-year-old William Short was also in the car during the stop. A records check showed that the younger Short had an active warrant for a failure to appear, and was found with Three Grams of Fentanyl as well as items associated with drug sales. The elder man was released, but was later taken into custody when he was seen wheeling a gun safe from his residence. Detectives confronted the man about what he was trying to hide and ran a records check. It was determined that he also was a convicted felon and not allowed to own guns. A search of the home found six guns, Fentanyl, Meth, ammunition, and high capacity magazines. Three of the guns were stolen. As of Sunday, the younger Short remains in jail, while the elder man has been released.
