A man is accused of setting fire to a home in Bella Vista and firing a Shotgun into it, injuring a child. At around 11PM Thursday night the homeowner on Bella Vista Court, Robert Johnson, saw an armed man walking around his property so he went to talk to him. The trespasser, identified as 33-year-old Evan Holliday, argued with Johnson and allegedly raised his shotgun and pointed it at Johnson, who fled back into his home and took shelter with his family. Holliday then reportedly set fire to the home and Johnson’s vehicle. Johnson went back out to douse the fire and was threatened with the gun again. He apparently got back inside just as Holliday opened fire through the front window, sending Shotgun pellets through many of the walls and wounding Johnson’s juvenile son. There were other children inside as well but they were uninjured. At last word on Friday the child was hospitalized in stable condition. Holliday’s vehicle had been seen fleeing the scene and it was spotted sometime after Midnight by Tehama County Deputies at a home on Adobe Road in Red Bluff. Shasta County Major Crimes and the SWAT Team responded to help capture Holliday. He’s charged with 6 counts of attempted murder, arson and other charges.
