A Sacramento women reportedly tried to abduct a young girl in Jones Valley Tuesday morning. At 8:21AM the 7-year-old was waiting for her school bus at a bus stop on Ravine Road when 49-year-old Cortny Leigh Cossey pedaled up on a bicycle and pulled on the girl’s arm to try and get her to come with her, according to the sheriff’s office. The school bus arrived and Cossey apparently tried to follow the little girl onto the bus but the bus driver closed the door before she was able to get on board. The child’s parent was nearby and followed Cossey when she tried to leave, then held her until deputies arrived. Cossey had a number of outstanding warrants from Sacramento County and she was arrested for those, and was also charged with kidnapping.
