Redding Police took two people into custody after chasing one of them in Downtown Redding on Wednesday evening. Officers saw a car occupied by 34-year-old Ruben Ybarra at Market and Tehama Streets. Knowing he had felony warrants, they tried to pull the car over but they were ignored by the driver, who continued slowly to Butte and Pine Streets, then stopped and Ybarra took off on foot. He ran as far as Shasta Regional Medical Center, where a security guard tackled him and held him for police. The driver of the car, 39-year-old Brandi Gunther, allegedly had Methamphetamine, Fentanyl and Psilocybin Mushrooms. They were both booked into jail.
