Serial Arsonist Sentenced To 10 Years In Prison

A Red Bluff man who’s been convicted as a serial arsonist has been sentenced for making criminal threats. 35-year-old Jeremy Dwayne Schulte was arrested and convicted in 2022 for starting four fires, three of which burned the tents and belongings of homeless people at Red Bluff City Park, and one that caused significant structural damage to the Reed’s Creek Bridge. Schulte was already on post release supervision when he started the fires and he was sentenced to 4 years in state prison. He apparently got out early because he’s now going to prison for approaching an ex-girlfriend at the park and accusing her of stealing a Pokemon card from him. When she denied having it he pulled a knife and threatened to cut her throat, then grabbed her when she tried to walk away. He’s been given a 10 year sentence.
