Groups including Healthy Shasta, Caltrans, Redding Parks and Trails and more are actively seeking teams to form and take part in the Shasta Bike Challenge. Activities run through the month of May, and riders are encouraged to gather a team at work or at school and register Thursday at a big event in Redding. The kick-off party will take place at the Food Truck Hub off California Street between the Lorenz Hotel and the railroad tracks from 5:30 to 7:30PM Thursday evening. Everyone who takes the “Bike Challenge” will qualify for great prizes each day they ride and record it. Team captains can pick up their supplies at the event.
