After almost 40 years in public education and the past 7 years as Shasta County Schools Superintendent, Judy Flores has announced that she’ll retire. She’s been honored with a number of statewide awards and ushered Shasta County Schools through devastating fires, the coronavirus ordeal, political upheaval and many changes in the direction of public education. Her retirement date will be June 30th of next year. The Shasta County Board of Education will appoint an interim superintendent to serve the remainder of the term, which goes through 2026.
