A motorcyclist almost got away while being chased by Anderson Police Thursday afternoon. The rider was seen going more than 100 miles an hour southbound on Highway 273. When an officer tried to stop him, the rider fled. The pursuit was soon terminated for public safety concerns. About three blocks away the rider ran his motorcycle into a curb and disabled it. He then fled into an apartment complex. Officers chasing him on foot found his discarded helmet, backpack and jacket. With help from CHP Air Operations 22-year-old Anthony Christensen was found in some bushes behind a building next to Interstate 5. The Shasta Lake City man is on Post Release Supervision for a shooting in Redding in 2023. He’s being held without bail.
