Five years ago the Shasta Regional Community Foundation became the Community Foundation of the Northstate to reflect the wide scope of the funding it provides to vital needs. Now a fund is being established specifically for the needs of Shasta County. The foundation is establishing the Shasta County Fund with an initial distribution of $25,000. The original Community Foundation was launched in 2000 with $300,000 and seven funds. It now manages more 180 funds with charitable assets of $40 Million. More than $100 mMllion has been generated by the foundation. Those who wish to donate to the new Shasta County Fund may call 244-1219 or go to cfnorthstate.org.
